  First year with baby!

  i wanted to share a few recent pics of izabella with everyone.

  this week marks her one year since her coming home from nicu.

  she has been growing and changing so much these last few months in particular.

  Funny occurrences

  what were some funny experiences you had of things that happened during talks at the meetings?.

  a few of mine:.

  - a brother had dyed his hair before his talk and it was raining heavily when he arrived at the hall and the dye was running down his face during his talk and his skin went more and more grey as the black dye ran down it.

  I was 14 at the time running the sound at the back of the hall during the service meeting. My dad whose name is Archie was giving a talk when this stranger' walks in and sets in the back row. You can tell he was drunk but was quiet. In the middle of my dad's talk the stranger stands up and shouts out "Give them hell Archie" and walks out. It was one of my dads old drinking buddy's. Everyone found it to be very funny. Still Totally ADD

  Expected pain

  last week was a big week for me in terms of coming totally clean to my wife and her being more than on board to leave the jw’s with me.

  we know what to expect but things happen from family and it still hurts just as bad.

  last night my wife got a long text message from her brother that has seemed to be in the fence and he told her that same guilt tripping rhetoric that the wt uses about life in the paradise etc.

  Sorry to hear about this son. I feel your wife's brother when hearing what she had to say scared him back into cult thinking. It happens all the time. The pull of the cult is very, very strong. Fear and gulit is their biggest weapon and they use it well. Being born-in your brother in law has been conditioned for years on guilt and fear. It really is no surprise he said what he said. Him sitting on the fence like he was doing for along time then all of a sudden your wife let's him know how she feels really rattle his cage.

  Please don't take it personally you have to pity him, he is a victim of a concept just like all of us at one time. Give him time maybe he will come around one day. Just remember you guys are doing the right thing and just like your mother said we are there for you. Try to have a good day we will be thinking about you. Still Totally ADD aka dad

  i think trump will be the nominee for the republicans and the democrats... i have no clue.

  i hope bernie sanders runs again and wonder if hillary would dare go for a rematch..

  Simon and RubaDub you both should be ashamed of yourselves using such degrading languge concerning Sen. Warren. Do you call people of color or minorities such words? You may not like her and that is fine but to use degrading name calling is wrong. I don't like bullies and this kind of talk is what bullies use. Showing respect to all people is one of the highest forms of dignity we can show each other. I often tell people who think they are right all the time is 100 years from now no one will give a damn about what we thought. Your forum is one of healing and encouragement for all here and I thank you for it. But enough is enough when it comes to degrading language. All it does is divide us not bring us together.   it was shocking.. all these years later, i found myself crying for the dead for the first time..

  I had just left home depot in my work van and the radio DJ said a plane had just hit the world trade center. I thought so what could a small plane do as far as damage. My next stop was at another supplier they had a tv on showing what was going on. Thats when i saw it was a passenger jet that hit the towers not a small plane. Soon after another one hit the other tower. That's when I knew we were under attack and i feared for my 18 year old son would have to go to jail because war was just around the corner. That didn't happen about going to jail but the world did change and 17 years later this county is still at war. Everyone I knew was kind of in a shock state for serveral weeks. After the planes started to fly again things seem to go back to a strange normal. About a month after that my wife and I flew to Hawaii for vacation. Still Totally ADD

  What was the EXACT exJW website you first visited and why EXACTLY did you visit it?

  i had two episodes of visiting exjw websites:one time around 2007 when i just googled "jehovah´s witnesses" and dared to look at those sites.

  i was scared and i promised myself i would never come back to them.

  however, that one didn´t really count.the moment that woke me up was this:i got to know that whitney heichel was a jw and murdered by another jw, because i overheard that conversation in a kingdom hall.i looked up the news and in one of the news comments, there was one where an exjw was complaining that they were hijacking her funeral and they were really trying to downplay the fact that her murderer was a jw... and then it said "visit jwfacts.com"... which i did.and the rest... is history.what exactly got you onto an apostate website when you woke up?

  I looked at various sites but I felt bored with them. I am not much of a computer person but when my wife told me about this site I was hook at the get go. This is still pretty much the only place I go to. Still Totally ADD

  Carts on both ends of the farmersmarket

  my wife and me have a booth at the local framers market.

  there is usually about 12 t0 14 vendors each week on a small short street in town.

  what is funny on each end of this short street are cart setups with 3 people on each cart.

  Thanks everyone all good comments. I don't think they are paying for anything. Only those who are vendors with the market pay. It's only $10 per week. They setup their carts on one corner of the street, just off our street and the other one at the end of our street just off our street in a small city park. It looks like they are part of the market put they are not. I dont know if a permit by the city is required for them. Still Totally ADD

  where is their anger over child abuse or domestic violence?

  these are actually issues worthy of anger and even a violent display in order to gain attention.

  The borg never cared about children or women it is all about the 144000 going to heaven and their rulership with Christ. They have often said the greek scriptures is mostly for them and not the other sheep. So why would they care about child abuse? It's the lesser form of humans problem not theirs. Still Totally ADD

  Burt Reynolds - Dead at Age 82 - Rest in Peace

  hadn't seen a thread started on this so i thought i'd start a tribute thread to one of the great actors / entertainers over the years we've enjoyed watching.

  he had a wicked, dry sense of humor, especially on the johnny carson show, great acting in deliverance, so if anybody would like to share stories, you tube snippets of talk show appearances, or pieces from movies- feel free to do so !

  That 1978 tonight show was great. I truly miss the old tonight shows I grew up with. My god I was 24 years old back then and only 32 years away from leaving the borg. One of my links to the outside world back then.

  At any rate RIP Burt you gave us humor and enterainment when we needed it. Thanks flipper for posting this thread. Still Totally ADD
